Connect CrowdPass with MessageBird
Send CrowdPass event messages across SMS, voice, and chat channels via MessageBird
MessageBird's unified inbox means your event communications reach attendees on whichever channel they prefer. CrowdPass registrations and NFC check-ins trigger SMS confirmations, voice call reminders, or WhatsApp messages through a single integration. One connection handles every channel without configuring separate Zaps for each messaging platform.
Automations you can build
Registration triggers a confirmation message via the attendee's preferred channel. MessageBird routes the message to SMS for domestic attendees and WhatsApp for international ones based on phone number format, ensuring reliable delivery regardless of carrier or country.
NFC check-in initiates a MessageBird flow that sends a welcome SMS with Wi-Fi credentials, then a WhatsApp message with the interactive venue map 5 minutes later. The conversation flow handles both messages as a single thread visible in the MessageBird inbox.
When a high-value lead is scanned at a booth, MessageBird places an automated voice call to the assigned sales rep with a text-to-speech summary of the lead. For lower-priority leads, an SMS is sent instead. The channel is selected by a Zapier filter on the lead's ticket tier.
Post-event survey completion triggers a thank-you message on the attendee's most recent MessageBird conversation channel. If their last interaction was via WhatsApp, the thank-you goes there. If it was SMS, it goes to SMS. The experience feels seamless across channels.
How event teams use this
Global event with multi-channel messaging
An international summit with attendees from 30 countries uses MessageBird to route CrowdPass notifications to the optimal channel per region. European attendees receive WhatsApp messages, North American attendees get SMS, and Asian attendees receive messages on their local messaging platform. Delivery rates hit 97% versus 82% with SMS-only.
Voice call escalation for VIP arrivals
When a VIP sponsor checks in via NFC at a gala, MessageBird places an automated voice call to the hospitality lead with a text-to-speech message: "Your VIP guest has arrived at Gate B." The call ensures the message is received even in a noisy venue where texts might be missed.
Unified attendee communication inbox
An event team manages all attendee messages in the MessageBird inbox. Registration confirmations, check-in welcome texts, and post-event follow-ups appear as a single conversation thread per attendee. When an attendee replies with a question, the support team responds from the same inbox without switching tools.
