Connect CrowdPass with Dext
Capture and categorize CrowdPass event receipts in Dext for clean bookkeeping
Event bookkeeping is messy when receipts come from dozens of vendors across multiple days. Dext's OCR engine extracts amounts, dates, and vendor names from every receipt submitted through CrowdPass, then categorizes and exports them to your accounting software. Your books are event-ready before the venue is even broken down.
Automations you can build
Event staff submit vendor receipts through CrowdPass custom forms with a photo and basic details. Dext receives the image, runs OCR to extract the vendor, amount, tax, and date, and queues the entry for review. Manual data entry is eliminated for on-site purchases.
Each ticket sale creates a Dext sales document with the buyer, amount, ticket type, and event name. Dext categorizes it under event revenue and exports the entry to your accounting software at the next sync, keeping your revenue ledger current.
Paid registrations with add-on items generate individual Dext entries broken out by line item. Workshop fees, meal packages, and merchandise purchases each appear as separate categorized entries, giving your bookkeeper granular revenue data.
When lead volumes hit the thresholds defined in sponsor agreements, Dext logs an accrued cost entry for the cost-per-lead component. Accounting teams see sponsor fulfillment costs building in real time alongside the revenue those sponsors generated.
How event teams use this
Receipt-free event bookkeeping
A conference organizer's team of 15 generates over 300 receipts during a 4-day event. Each team member submits receipts via CrowdPass forms as purchases happen. Dext extracts and categorizes every entry overnight, and the bookkeeper reviews a clean queue the next morning instead of sorting through a shoebox of paper.
Multi-event revenue recognition
An event management company runs 8 client events per month. CrowdPass ticket sales for each event flow into Dext tagged by client and event date. Dext exports categorized revenue entries to Xero, and the accountant produces per-client revenue reports without any manual journal entries.
Tax-ready event expense records
A nonprofit gala coordinator needs clean expense records for their annual tax filing. Every vendor receipt from the gala flows through CrowdPass to Dext, where OCR extracts the tax amount and categorizes the expense. The nonprofit's CPA receives a complete Dext export with all receipts attached, shaving two weeks off tax prep.
