Automations you can build
Check-ins send a Track event to RudderStack with properties for event name, session, venue, and check-in method (NFC tap, QR scan). RudderStack Transformations can enrich the event in-flight — appending company data from Clearbit, normalizing field names to match your warehouse conventions, or filtering out internal team members before the event reaches any destination.
Registrations send an Identify call to RudderStack with attendee traits. RudderStack's warehouse-first architecture syncs these traits directly to your Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift instance as a users table update. Your dbt models can immediately join event registration data with product usage and revenue tables without waiting for a separate data pipeline.
Booth captures send a Track event that RudderStack routes to both your warehouse and your CRM simultaneously. A RudderStack Transformation can split the payload: the warehouse receives the full raw event with all metadata, while the CRM receives a cleaned-up version with only the fields that map to CRM lead properties. One source event, two optimized payloads.

Warehouse-first event analytics with dbt models
A data team runs their analytics stack on BigQuery with dbt for transformations. CrowdPass event data flows through RudderStack into a raw "event_check_ins" table in BigQuery. The dbt model joins this table with the "product_usage" and "subscription_revenue" tables on user email. The resulting dashboard shows that customers who attended two or more in-person events have 60% higher annual contract value than those who attended zero. The VP of Marketing uses this data to triple the events budget. None of this required custom code — RudderStack delivered the data, dbt modeled it.
Custom transformations for event data normalization
A company hosts 50 events per year across different regions, each with slightly different CrowdPass field configurations. RudderStack User Transformations normalize the data: mapping "Session Name" from US events and "Workshop Title" from EU events to a unified "session_name" field, converting timestamps to UTC, and appending regional tags.
