Clergy and Lay Leadership Conference, "Where Future Meets Legacy: Theoethics, African Spirituality and Afrofuturism."
ACTION REQUESTED: COVID-19 Guidelines for SDPC 2023
After 2 fully virtual years of convening, we are so thankful that we can once again gather. It has been a challenging and dynamic time! We are endeavoring to create a safe environment for everybody. SDPC has adopted the following COVID guidelines for our 2023 Annual Clergy & Lay Leadership Conference.
As part of our prepa
ration to receive the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference (SDPC) Family this year we have been closely monitoring the ongoing outbreaks and mutations of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and following recommendations and guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Attendees are being requested to provide/upload: Proof of COVID Vaccination OR a Negative COVID Test within 72 hours of the conference opening session.
We are using CrowdPass as a tool to help all of us in this process. CrowdPass is a popularly used App to facilitate group convenings. Please upload proof of vaccination, or proof of a negative test, or your medical or religious exemption.
Protective Masks:
We acknowledge CDC’s recently updated guidance on mask wearing; masks are optional. However, we encourage attendees to wear a mask if they or someone in their home is immunocompromised or at high risk for severe illness, or if they have a young child.
Physical Distancing:
Further, to help attendees communicate their level of comfort in interacting with one another, SDPC will provide all attendees with their choice of a color-coded sticker to represent to others each attendee’s choice of contact:
Red – Greet from 6 feet
Yellow – Elbows, fist bumps and handshakes only
Green – Open to hugs
We respect your choice to cooperate with our guidelines, which are dependent upon an honor system. We appreciate your cooperation!
We ask that you follow general precautionary practices, which include:
• There will be hand sanitizer stations positioned throughout the event space. Please use them frequently.
• There will be temperature monitors for your use onsite.
• Shield your coughs or sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash; if a tissue is not available, use your sleeve.
• Wash your hands regularly with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Stay home if you are feeling ill.
